If you have an elderly relative, with reduced mobility or a dependent, you know well that they need specific and regular care. For this reason, many times it is necessary and dedicated to take the person to a residence or ask for help from an external professional to be able to give them the care they need.
Each person requires care depending on their physical and mental condition, and they must be prescribed by a doctor, so that they are correct and thus improve their quality of life. The age of these people must also be taken into account, since it will not be the same for a child as for an elderly person.
We detail what we think are the primary care:
Medical monitoring
It is very important, as we said, that these people have continuous monitoring by their doctor. Know what treatments they should have, both regarding medication, mobility and rehabilitation. Also help them in the purchase and administration of medication, accompany or do the rehabilitation they need, etc ...
Personal hygiene
Personal hygiene is very important for anyone. A person, because they are bedridden or with reduced mobility, should not neglect this issue. They should receive a daily grooming and change of clothes.
Varied and balanced diet
Food is a key part of our health. The variety of food eaten must be taken care of as well as the quantities, since these are people who do not have much mobility.
Set schedules
Maintaining a daily routine will help your mental state.
Physical activity
A minimum daily physical activity is recommended. It can be a half-hour walk, a few steps down the hall, or arm and leg exercises while lying down, depending on the abilities of each person.
Emotional care
It is as important as physical care. The company, a chat, watching a television program together, ... will make you feel accompanied and improve your mood.
Domestic care
Help with household chores: cleaning, shopping, laundry,….
The set of all these cares will help to give them a better quality of life.
